This wiki is provided by the Durham County Library so that the community can easily see and participate in its strategic planning efforts.
A Web Quality Council has been added to our organizational chart. This council has three sub-committees; The Web Steering Committee; The Web Editorial Board; Web Content Editors. Their charges are: The Durham County Library Web Steering Committee is charged with guiding the overall direction of the library’s web presence. The Durham County Library Web Editorial Board is charged with reviewing all new content and will be primarily concerned with grammar, spelling and appropriateness of content. The Durham County Library Web Content Editors are charged with seeking, creating and updating content for inclusion on the Durham County Library Web Site.
The Web Steering Committee met on February 5th and February 28th, 2008. We reviewed our site and other library web sites and have decided on a basic layout for redesign. Mock-up pages will be created before our next meeting on April 3rd, 2008. Committee members are currently working on a new hierarchy for the site and selecting terminology that will be more patron-focused and friendly.
