Goal 1: The library is a customer-centered and welcoming place for the entire Durham community.
1.6: The library will aggressively market its services throughout the community.
What are some strategies we have for this?
A. Set up tables at supermarkets or other busy stores. Display library flyers and brochures, answer questions and sign up new borrowers using a catchy theme, such as “Cookies and Books.”
B. Conduct other offsite library card sign up campaigns (Maintain a mobile list of active card holders to eliminate duplication).
C. Conduct an email signup campaign
D. Conduct marketing geared to teens.
a. Involve the young adult librarians in the marketing, planning and implementation.
b. Offer more teen programs.
E. Develop a “library champion” program at area schools (students who choose to “champion” and market the library to other students).
F. Market the library’s special collections
G. Increase use of email to deliver library news, programs and information to customer
